Table and Data Type

Note: Some keyword can interchangeably one with another for instance Column/Field/Attribute or Row/record

Type of Data

• String
  • VARCHAR - String with variant measurement
  • ENUM - String from one of the lists of value that has determined.
• Number
  • INTEGER - a number that is not a fraction; a whole number (BILANGAN BULAT)
  • FLOAT - Decimal
  • BOOL - (TRUE/FALSE) with 1 is defined as TRUE and 0 as FALSE
• Date and Time
  • DATE - date with format YYY-MM-DD
  • DATETIME - Time with format YYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss

Example:

Planning a Database

1. Determine what will store.

For instance, HR want to store employee.

• Employee ID
• Name
• Level
• Born Date
